You might have loved every colorful bit of your silk scarf collection for the spring/summer season just passed, but know that the forecast for next season shows that they’re bigger than ever when worn in your gorgeous locks.
On the New York Fashion Week spring/summer 2020 catwalks, scarfs adorned hairstyles at many shows.
Beautiful take on the trend was at Jonathan Cohen, where models wore super-long scarfs weaved into low plaits, knotted top and bottom.
Bright, punchy prints complemented the palettes of the outfits which shouted spring optimism.
At Rag & Bone, long scarfs secured simple, mid-placed ponytails. Again, the color theme was matchy-matchy, making it an extension of the outfit as much as a hair accessory.
A similar theme was seen at Alice + Olivia, where a bandanna paisley pattern was modelled against tie-dye, for a modern take on two ‘90s throwbacks.
Elsewhere on the catwalks, hair accessories came in the form of flowers, pretty pearls and crystals, but the versatile scarf is emerging as spring’s most wearable tress trend.
To style it for this season, simply choose one in richer hues to match the autumnal palette of your wardrobe.
