Mila&SuchNYC Gifts Scarves Accessories

Hi my beautiful blossoms,

How times have changed last I posted a blog. We are living in a time where long distance relationships took on a very different meaning.

Over the last few days I have watched too much television, too many YouTube programs, and have heard that it is now strongly suggested for the general public to wear masks. Not only from protecting ourselves from the COVID virus, but to also protect others, as this virus can have no or very few symptoms, but can still infect others.

I have found several wonderful and easy make your own face masks on YouTube and I have linked the five I thought would be doable for those who can not sew, for those who have minimum sewing experience, and for those who can sew at home just using a needle and thread without a sewing machine handy.

I, myself am not a professional seamstress, but I can make a stitch and can follow a pattern. Right now I am making cloth masks with a pocket to insert a HEPA filter to offer extra protection. Using the suggestion from a variety of sources, I found a filter I can repurpose into the masks, however you can insert any variety of filters you find yourself through your own research.

These will be available for purchase on Monday for only $20 on the website, and many will be donated to those on the front lines at New York Presbyterian and Bellevue Hospitals.

So here are the five YouTube tutorials I found to be super useful and thought I would share them with you all!

1. How to make an easy facemask that's usable and washable.

2. How to make a DIY N95 type face mask out of things that you can still buy. Can’t find masks anywhere in your local stores?

3. How to Sew a Face Mask with Filter Pocket - Fast and Easy DIY Flu Mask

4. DIY FABRIC FACE MASK

5. A Doctor Explains How to Make the Safest Face Mask

I hope you are all finding some peace and using the time to do all the things you had not had time to accomplish.

I know for me, my projects are very much organized, the studio is tidy and ready for creative work, my own YouTube channel is in the works.

Now, if I can only find the motivation to keep going. This is something that wears heavy on our hearts and spirits, and we must make them stronger though hope and caring for each other to keep going.

Love you all so much,

XOs Mila
