Hi my beautiful blossom,
On this Makeup Friday video, I will be talking about all things matte lipstick. Matte lipstick is a classic look that can really pull your makeup together, but applying it correctly is another story. However, once you master the perfect matte lip, there's no turning back. You'll start wearing it with every look!
First and foremost, you have to prep your lips. Loose skin and dryness on your lips will lead to an uneven application, so you need to start by exfoliating. How I do it is with Vaseline and an old toothbrush to exfoliate my lips and get them smooth. A tip from me: never use a cotton ball to remove excess product from your lips. Cotton balls and stickiness just do not mix.
Next comes choosing your matte lipstick. I went with the Lime Crime Liquid Lip in the color Red Velvet. Just try your best to avoid getting anything on your teeth! If you prepped and applied correctly, your matte lipstick should not be coming off anytime soon.
When it comes to removing matte lipstick, it can be a little bit tricky. My go-to method is once again using some Vaseline and applying it all over my lips. I let it sit for a couple of seconds, and then go in with a paper towel and carefully wipe IN to remove the lipstick. Emphasis on the wiping in, not out! The lipstick should be off your lips as quickly as you applied it on. Using my method will ensure a quick removal without any annoying lipstick smudging.
And just to make sure that my method works with all different lipstick shades, I went in after with the Rimmel Stay Satin Matte Liquid lip in the colors Latte To Go and Glam Rock. With my matte lipstick application and removal process, you can experiment with as many lipstick shades as your heart desires!
